On Saturday, December 6th, 2025, Oregon Koto-Kai, the Japanese Koto Music Society of Oregon, will hold a family friendly Winter Concert. This concert will feature a Japanese story reading that is accompanied throughout by koto music. The group will also play a selection of seasonal pieces full of holiday spirit.

Portland is a welcoming and diverse community and this diversity makes our city very special. As koto players, we are encouraged by our community, and once a year in the holiday season we look forward to sharing our thanks and appreciation with those who support us with our music. Many people may expect to hear only traditional sounds on the Japanese koto, but in this special time of year, we will share a variety of holiday songs.
