In A Landscape: Fort Ross State Historic Park

Fort Ross State Historic Park sets the stage for a dramatic cliffside concert above the Pacific Ocean. This weekend coincides with the Annual Pilgrimage of the Russian Orthodox Church, offering a rare opportunity to experience the park’s layered history in motion.

Presented in partnership with the Fort Ross Conservancy, the park reflects the living culture of the Kashia Pomo and Graton Rancheria people, as well as its Russian colonial era and subsequent ranching period from 1842 to 1972, now preserved and interpreted through the Conservancy.

The IN A LANDSCAPE concert site is reached by a path through forest and past the historic fort, opening onto a grassy bluff overlooking the ocean. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to experience the Russian Orthodox pilgrimage and historic festivities. Coastal conditions can include wind and ocean mist.
