Event Details
Celebrating more than eight decades as a public institution, Maryhill Museum of Art houses a wide-ranging collection spanning European and American art, Indigenous art, fashion and textiles, contemporary sculpture, and decorative arts, including more than 80 works by Auguste Rodin. Founded in 1917 by pioneer Samuel Hill, the museum sits above the Columbia River Gorge, with expansive views across the river and surrounding landscape.
The museum also holds more than 3,500 objects from Hill’s personal collection that reflect the Indigenous heritage of the region, including the histories and continuing presence of the 14 tribes and bands of the Yakama Nation.
The IN A LANDSCAPE concert takes place outdoors adjacent to The Maryhill Overlook, a site-specific sculpture by architect Brad Cloepfil, at the edge of the museum grounds. Listeners park nearby and walk a short distance along a trail to settle informally throughout the landscape among sagebrush overlooking the Columbia River.
