Event Details
Join the Rose City Pride Bands for an evening of music, community, and celebration at Loud & Proud on the Lawn, an open-air Pride concert in the courtyard of the Vancouver School of Arts & Academics.
Unfold your picnic blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the upbeat music of Rose City Swing as they play jazz standards and summery, familiar favorites ranging from Duke Ellington to Lionel Richie and the Commodores. Ease into your evening with more favorites such as “Blue Skies”, the bossa nova flair of “The Girl from Ipanema”, and the Gershwin classic “Summertime”.
Our second half is set beneath the summer sky, with a dynamic program showcasing the power and range of wind band music. From the sweeping majesty of Sibelius’s “Finlandia” to the theatrical brilliance of “Wicked”, “Chicago”, and “Hamilton”, the concert blends classical masterworks with Broadway favorites and cinematic scores, including highlights from “The Dark Knight”. Audiences will also enjoy the wit and energy of “La Cage Aux Folles”, the spirited “Russian Sailors Dance”, and timeless selections from Sousa and von Suppé.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and settle in for a vibrant evening where music, pride, and community take center stage. Loud & Proud celebrates the richness of LGBTQ+ artistry and the joy of sharing music together in an open, welcoming space.

Rose City Pride Bands is a welcoming space for members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community to forge connections through music. We cultivate a network of instrumentalists, music enthusiasts, and members of the LGBTQ+ community to entertain audiences and use music as a vehicle to unify our communities. We believe music empowers communities to collectively build harmonious societies. We celebrated our 35th anniversary season in 2024–2025, and in our 36th season, we launched the Rose City Symphonic Band, our first new ensemble in more than three decades.
