Chemeketa is pleased to present a concert of music inspired by “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” featuring the Nate Olson Trio and surrounded by a thousand or more lights. This very special presentation is perfect for every age group and a wonderful Christmas moment for everyone.

Founded in 1980 to perform the instrumental music of Shakespeare’s time, the Baltimore Consort has explored early English, Scottish, and French popular music, focusing on the relationship between folk and art song and dance. Their interest in early music of English/Scottish heritage has also led them to delve into the rich trove of traditional music preserved in North America. Recordings on the Dorian label have earned them recognition as Top Classical-Crossover Artist of the Year (Billboard), as well as rave reviews elsewhere.

Sheer passion for chamber music drives the Aviara Trio. Comprised of violinist Robert Schumitzky, cellist Erin Breene, and pianist Ines Irawati, this exciting ensemble has made an indelible impression on the musical landscape of Southern California for the past decade. Most recently, the trio was honored to perform at the Hollywood Bowl on Celebrate LA, Los Angeles Philharmonic’s 100-year anniversary celebration.

DakhaBrakha — is world-music quartet from Kyiv, Ukraine. Reflecting fundamental elements of sound and soul, Ukrainian ethnic chaos band DakhaBrakha, create a world of unexpected new music.
The name DakhaBrakha is original, outstanding and authentic at the same time. It means give/take in the old Ukrainian language.
Accompanied by traditional instrumentation from different countries, the quartet’s astonishingly powerful and uncompromising vocal range creates a trans-national sound rooted in Ukrainian culture.
