Art sparks more art, creates opportunities for collaboration, and brings our community together. Local musicians Dan Bosshardt and Joe Aloia took that spark and composed ten original jazz songs celebrating beloved and familiar public artworks in Hillsboro. Each song in the Out There Jazz Suite is named for and inspired by a specific sculpture. Clever and interesting musical ideas have sprung from dancing chairs, magnolias, baseball bats, hamburger people, and more. Enjoy the spontaneity and creativity of a dynamic jazz quartet concert while photos of the sculptures are displayed. The program includes insights into the creative process of both the composers and sculptors, as well as some special guests. DanBosshardt.com/Out-There
The creation of the Out There Jazz Suite was funded in part by the Regional Arts & Culture Council and the Richard B. Siegel Foundation with the support of the Hillsboro Community Foundation.
As a recipient of a City of Hillsboro Performance Series Grant, the proceeds from this performance go directly to the performers, with a portion going to Tualatin Valley Artists, Inc.
