Immerse yourself in the enchanting sounds of Lake Grove’s magnificent pipe organ in this free, one-hour, family-friendly concert. More than just a box of pretty whistles, the organ is a self-contained orchestra with a rich and diverse repertoire spanning centuries. Under the masterful hands of Lake Grove’s organist, Jeff Wood, attendees will experience an eclectic program featuring old favorites and new gems. From the graceful melodies of a J. S. Bach sonata to the vibrant rhythms of a contemporary German composer’s Bossa Nova, this concert offers something for everyone. In addition to the musical performances, Jeff Wood will share fascinating insights into how the organ produces its unique sounds. Audience members are invited to engage with the performer before and after the concert for questions and a rare backstage look into the organ case.
