On Deck with Iris Cohn
For 17-year old singer Iris Cohn, “connection” is a very important word. She loves singing in choir (both at St. Mary’s Academy and with Pacific Youth Choir) for the connection it provides her with her peers, and she loves connecting with young students at Outdoor School.
Iris loves Outdoor School as much as she loves music. As a Student Leader at Outdoor School, she gets to choose a name to use while she’s there. “My name is Arpeggio!” she says. “So nerdy. And I get to explain what an arpeggio is approximately 10 times a day. I love it!”
In return, her abundance of musical friends provided much-needed support to Iris late last year when she was feeling disconnected following the sudden death of her father.
