The Classical Northwest

The Classical Northwest is a new, community‑centered classical music festival debuting this August in the Portland area. Founded on the belief that great music thrives through collaboration and shared experience, the festival’s mission is to empower young musicians through side-by-side collaboration with professional artists in orchestral and chamber music settings, fostering artistic growth for emerging artists while creating exceptional concert experiences for Portland audiences.

The festival brings together more than 60 musicians from various backgrounds, including youth ensembles, community orchestras, as well as accomplished professional artists. The festival also welcomes the Israeli young cellist Yarden Kavenor, who will be the featured soloist in the opening concert, and Sergio Delgado, a composer from Costa Rica whose work will be performed at the festival.
