La Musica Paradiso! – Summer 2016

Join All Classical Portland Program Director and On-Air Host Suzanne Nance on a twelve-day exploration of Italian culture this summer.

July 8 to July 20, 2016

This summer’s cultural tour to the temperate and mild lake region of Northern Italy is different than any trip we’ve embarked on before, offering an unparalleled opportunity for insider access to the finest palaces, art and cuisine of the region. All Classical Portland Program Director and On-Air Host Suzanne Nance leads this exquisitely programmed twelve-day journey, offered in partnership with Customized Journeys. With offices in Portland, Oregon and Genoa, Italy, Customized Journeys is the brainchild of Italian Countess Alessandra Gardino. Along with the title of Countess, Alessandra acquired one more extraordinary asset: she is heiress to the Ranghiasci Palace, located in the small Umbrian village of Gubbio which is considered to be one of Italy’s most well preserved medieval villages.

Travelers on this journey will feel like royalty as they savor an exclusive lunch in the palace itself and later in the day enjoy a private concert in its music room. Explorations of the breathtaking Adriatic coast, enviable Modena vinegar tastings, and visits to the most beautiful Italian lake villas make this a most extraordinary trip. Opportunities to explore village traditions, local artisan products, and history intermingle with high art at its pinnacle: three opera performances at the Arena di Verona. Allow opera to take you back in time to when this 1st century Roman amphitheatre housed nearly 30,000 spectators. Internationally famous for its large-scale performances, the Arena di Verona is one of the best preserved ancient structures of its kind. Other highlights include a visit to Juliet’s Balcony in Verona, wine and gelato tastings, and an intimate cruise on Garda Lake. Accommodation in carefully selected, centrally located first category hotels and charming country inns will ensure a comfortable high end experience.
