Experience the flamboyant and suspenseful ballet score that drove an audience to riot at its debut in 1913. Benjamin Beilman brings his “handsome technique, burnished sound, and quiet confidence” (The New York Times) to Jennifer Higdon’s lyrical and dazzlingly virtuosic violin concerto.

Inspired by Russian legends of nocturnal revels, Night on a Bald Mountain depicts a fiery witch’s sabbath and was inspiration for Walt Disney’s 1940 animated film Fantasia. Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 dwells in a sunny, pastoral world filled with Bohemian folk melodies, rustic peasant dances, and lamenting nostalgia. Ying Li brings her “graceful, lyrical” (Cleveland Classical) strengths to Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto, a work of youthful brilliance.
